A Pasco for the People
Meet Stephanie
Candidate for Pasco County Commission, District 2
Raised in poverty and shaped by her service in the United States Air Force, Stephanie turned adversity into action, leading national efforts to combat human trafficking and championing real solutions, not just quick fixes.
Stephanie’s running for Pasco County Commission to put power back where it belongs: with the people.
Stephanie Vazquez fights for those too often left behind: survivors, veterans, working families, and everyday people who deserve more from their government. Now she’s taking that fight to the County Commission.
Why I’m Running
-
Growing up in poverty, my family relied on government programs just to get by. Powdered milk and buttered noodles weren’t occasional meals… they were a way of life. Later, as a single mother of three young children, I worked tirelessly but still faced impossible decisions, like whether to pay the electric bill or cover daycare. Driving home on payday in tears, I often wondered if anyone in leadership truly understood the struggles of families like mine. Those experiences shaped me, and they’ve driven my passion for leadership that serves the people, not the powerful.
-
In Pasco County, entrenched politicians have created a system that prioritizes their relationships with special interests over the needs of the community. When the same individuals hold office for decades, fresh ideas are stifled, and power becomes concentrated, leaving everyday families behind. Term limits are essential for ensuring accountability, bringing new voices to the table, and fostering leadership that truly reflects the needs of our growing and diverse community.
-
Bad development is straining our roads, schools, and resources, while storms like Hurricane Milton have shown the cracks in our emergency preparedness. We need leaders who will invest in climate-resilient infrastructure and balanced growth that protects both families and our environment. I will also fight for stronger schools, tax fairness for working families, and smarter spending that benefits residents - not special interests.
-
With term limits and fresh leadership, we can make sure Pasco is a place where families thrive, schools excel, and communities grow stronger together. It’s time for leadership that’s truly for the people of Pasco, not the powerful.
